Fixing Nicks And Dents

Fix that nick or dent in that new piano.
Course Details:
Fixing nicks and dents is a great business builder. Few know how to do it and you will be their hero. There will be a variety of techniques shown in this class. Many use Konig repair products that are world class and very forgiving to use. Dents are filled with a base color of Hard Wax and hot knife (similar to stick shellac but more forgiving) and grained with a darker color. Easily beats trying to find matching veneer with a little skill. Many colors of Hard Wax are available as well as black. Graining can also be done with markers or paint and a fan brush. The final Finnish is with a variety of sprays or wipe-on finishes to achieve the right sheen for a perfect repair. Examples will be shown before and after and steps in between.

Doug Gregg
Doug worked in different construction trades every summer during college. He also rebuilt and painted classic cars, motorcycles, and boats. He has a solo piano business and shop where he moves, tunes, repairs, and rebuilds pianos and has about 1500 customers on Long Island. He represents Steinway on the East End of Long Island for warranty work and tunes for Steinway Artists.
